Psychological Assessment

Psychological assessments are a valuable tool in understanding an individual's cognitive, emotional, and behavioral functioning. At Mindward assessments are conducted by highly trained and experienced professionals who use standardized measures to evaluate a wide range of areas. Following are certain assessments we conduct to identify underlying issues or disorders and guide management planning:

Intelligence Testing:

Intelligence testing assesses an individual's cognitive abilities, including their verbal and nonverbal reasoning, problem-solving skills, memory, and spatial skills. Intelligence tests are commonly used in educational and vocational settings.

Neuro-psychological Testing:

Neuropsychological testing assesses an individual's cognitive functioning and can identify impairments in brain functioning caused by injury or illness. These tests assess areas such as attention, memory, language, and motor skills.

Diagnostic Testing:

Diagnostic testing in psychology refers to the process of using standardized tools and methods to assess an individual's symptoms and determine if they meet the criteria for a particular mental health disorder. Diagnostic testing is an important part of the diagnostic process for mental health professionals, as it provides a structured and reliable way to assess an individual's symptoms.

Projective Tests:

Projective tests are a type of psychological assessment that use ambiguous stimuli, such as inkblots, pictures, or stories, to assess an individual's personality, emotions, and motivations. These tests are based on the assumption that an individual's responses to ambiguous stimuli can reveal unconscious thoughts and feelings that are difficult to access through more direct methods.

Assessing Impact of Traumatic Experiences:

Trauma testing refers to the use of psychological assessments to evaluate the impact of traumatic events on an individual's mental health. These tests help us to identify symptoms related to trauma and develop an appropriate treatment plan.

In our setting, the decision to conduct assessments is taken with extreme caution. Where necessary to guide treatment, we use standardized measures only to aid in the process.
